What is my employment status as a Physician Reviewer with IMEDECS?

Expert reviewers are independent contractors with IMEDECS.

How many reviews can I expect to receive annually?

The number of reviews depends on the volume of cases IMEDECS receives that fall within your specialty and your availability to review them. This number cannot be predicted.

Where would I perform the reviews?

You may work from your home or office. Reviews will be sent via an overnight carrier or uploaded to a secure website depending on the requirements of the case. There is no physical examination of the patient.

Will IMEDECS provide training?

IMEDECS provides initial training for its reviewers and subsequent training, as necessary, tailored to the needs of the individual reviewer.

Whom do I call with questions?

IMEDECS' case management staff, including nurses and administrative assistants, are available to help you. You can reach them by phone or e-mail.

What if I need more information on a case?

If you require additional documentation on a case, you must call the IMEDECS Case Review Manager assigned to the case. The Case Review Manager will contact the referring entity to retrieve the additional information.
