Stacy Borans, MD
Medical Director
As the Medical Director for IMEDECS, Dr. Borans is responsible for chairing the Quality Assurance Committee, recommending changes to operational policies and procedures specific to the case review process, overseeing the credentialing process, and facilitating communication with the IMEDECS panel of physician experts.
Dr. Borans has served as an interim medical director for managed care organizations and as a peer reviewer on the national level. She has also provided consultative services to the reinsurance industry, serving as a medical advisor in the management of and compensation for catastrophic care cases. In addition to her experience in the managed care industry, Dr. Borans has overseen medical and quality management, appropriateness of care, and peer review programs in over 50 hospitals in seven states. Her leadership and experience in bridging the physician-nurse relationship has brought her clients vast improvement in case and utilization management efficiency. Dr. Borans has also served as interim physician advisor at over 20 institutions, including hospitals, managing general underwriters, and reinsurers.
Dr. Borans served as a practicing internist at Doylestown Hospital. She received her MD degree from Hahnemann University and completed her residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Dr. Borans is also the Chief Medical Officer for Advanced Medical Strategies (AMS). Advanced Medical Strategies offers healthcare companies a proactive approach to physician utilization management, and specializes in the implementation and management of superior and cost effective revenue solutions for the self-insurance and managed care industries without in-house medical expertise.
