Because IMEDECS is committed to improving clinical outcomes through its independent review program,
it continually seeks to recruit qualified physicians for its Medical Review Panel. Panel members, working
from home, conduct reviews of medical record documentation regarding medical necessity,
experimental/investigational, disability and workers’ compensation, and quality of care cases, among others.
To be considered for IMEDECS’ Medical Review Panel, you must be board certified; hold a current,
non-restricted license in a state of the United States; be actively engaged in the practice of medicine and
maintain active hospital privileges. All panel members are credentialed in accordance with URAC standards.
Upon successful credentialing, expert reviewers are “recruited” on a case by case basis to ensure availability,
experience with the issue in question, and to screen for potential conflicts of interest. Once assigned to a
case review, the expert reviewer is expected to render an accurate, objective decision based on the facts of the
case, scientific evidence and national or health plan criteria (as appropriate) in a timely manner.
IMEDECS is currently seeking reviewers in the following specialties:
- Allergy and Immunology
- Infectious disease
- Neurosurgery
- Oral Maxillofacial
- Otolaryngology
- Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant
- Pediatric Endocrinology
- Plastic Surgery
- Podiatry
- Rheumatology
