Press Release: Leading Independent Review Organization Hayes Plus Announces Name Change To IMEDECS Along With Exciting New Services

Mission

The mission of IMEDECS is to provide independent, informed expert medical review services that resolve coverage disputes or evaluate the quality of care. Through its medical review program, IMEDECS is dedicated to quality healthcare and improved clinical outcomes.

History

IMEDECS, formerly Hayes Plus was formed in 1999 to provide clients with evidence-based, independent reviews of medical cases denied as not medically necessary or experimental/investigational. In May 2000 Hayes Plus was accredited by URAC under its Independent Review standards. Recognized for its integrity and high quality, Hayes Plus became certified to conduct external reviews in a number of states.

IMEDECS is dedicated to improved clinical outcomes After a comprehensive selection process, Hayes Plus was selected as the billing dispute external review administrator for a class action settlement in 2003. The company continues to conduct billing dispute reviews for a number of health plans as part of their settlement agreements. Throughout the years Hayes Plus flourished – expanding its medical review panel and its national clientele.

In October 2005, Joyce Muller, then President and COO, purchased Hayes Plus, making the company wholly woman owned. The recent change to the name, Independent Medical Expert Consulting Services, Inc. dba IMEDECS, was to better reflect the products and services the company offers. Under the new ownership, IMEDECS is focused on providing new services to its clients while maintaining the quality and integrity for which we are known. IMEDECS’ offerings now include coding reviews, fraud reviews and medical coverage policy evaluations in addition to its case review and quality of care review services. On the horizon is the addition of a tool that allows clients secure web case submission and real-time access to case status.
